Schilthornbahn 20XX Project Completion

Although construction work is still in full swing on the Schilthorn, the completion of the SCHILTHORNBAHN 20XX is now within reach. On 28 November 2025, the second Funifor cableway between Mürren and Birg will be commissioned — right on time for the start of the winter season — providing the necessary transport capacity of 800 people per hour. The two lines, each equipped with cabins designed for 100 passengers, will operate mechanically independently, allowing year-round service on 365 days.

Even earlier than originally planned, on 2 April 2026, the second section between Birg and Schilthorn is scheduled to open, marking the completion of the cableway construction. At the same time, the new spacious station on the Schilthorn – Piz Gloria is being expanded. The bright, octagonal extension connected to the existing summit building will offer generous additional space and, thanks to its large panoramic windows and wide outdoor terraces, provide unparalleled views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
